Chapter 3
SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

Summary

This paper attempted to explain the advantages of Anxiety.

The research design used in this study is the descriptive method wherein data from documents, articles, books, and other research papers found in the internet were used to answer the research questions posed. The research findings are the following:


1. Motivation results to fix the problem as possible. People get through with anxiety as an advantage, it serve as a protection for themselves.

2. These are the benefits that a person with anxiety can have. Highly conscientious, honest, detail oriented, performance driven, socially responsible, self-controlled 


Conclusion.

People suffers due to their anxiety disorder. Many take a look at it on a dark side. Hence, there are things why a person have this disorder. And probably, they are born to live it. And no one will never know that having this order may lead into a brighter side. 

Recommendations



After drawing conclusions of the study, the researcher hereby makes the following suggestions/recommendations:
1. People should look anxiety on a bright side. Many always look at it on a bad situation. Its not always a negative effect to people.

2.People should research more about anxiety. what are the effects of it, how anxiety can help people to express their selves and to showcase their personality behind a disorder they are having.

Discussion 

What are positive side effects of anxiety ?


Definition of Anxiety.


Anxiety from its definition according to Dictionary is (a) "state of uneasiness or tension caused by apprehension of possible future misfortune, danger, etc; worry" ; (b) "a state of intense apprehension or worry often accompanied by physical symptoms such as shaking, intense feelings in the gut, etc, common in mental illness or after a very distressing experience
common mental illness characterized by feelings of nervousness worry and fear. However anxiety can  also conveys positive effects that help people deal with inevitable negative issues that happen in everyday life. These factors will be the topic of this discussion. 


II Benefits of Anxiety


 Positive effects of anxiety include alerting people to impending danger, according to the Anxiety Support Network. " Its distressing for people when a certain things can prevent negative costs for anxiety. Anxiety can warn them to leave or ignore conditions that cause tempers to flare and result in arguments or physical conflict. People also might realize they should avoid walking down a street or near a location where trouble might await them, such as an area where criminal activity might take place. Bothersome thoughts create the anxiety that helps people steer clear of potential harmful situations"

For a deeper understanding, People might feel uncomfortable when certain situations be a result and can take avoiding action and negative concerns because of anxiety. People can prepared for certain situations such as danger. it can protect them for a harmful things and be alert of what anything can happen. 

A. Motivation 

People are motivated to do things not just because they want to. Hence there are reasons why people do certain things. Some people use motivation as an anxiety treatment. And some people define Anxiety is motivational if it is sculpted towards a constructive and positive outcome

In the article entitled "Positive effects of Anxiety" written by Jerry Shaw. This articles tells that "Anxiety produces motivation". People are motivated to do things to resolve the problem quickly. But many people use their anxiety as an advantage to protect themselves.

Anxiety is not just a disorder, sometimes its a part of a person's personality that serves a treatment that can develop things and be alert to have safety. 

B. Associates with some wonderfully adaptive stuff.

There are some things that people cant learn or cannot explain if its natural or not. But it  measure adaptive behavior that people can notice from time to time. There are several adaptive stuff that a person may have. Qualities we never know when having an anxiety. 

In the article entitled "Positive traits seen in anxiety disorders" by Tracy Foose. Tells that  Highly conscientious, honest, detail oriented, performance driven, socially responsible, self-controlled is the qualities that the patients have.

Means that, Its a call for people s not to look anxiety in a bad way, but to look anxiety in a better way. Because not all things are made to think negative. There are things that people don't know. its up to them if they will believe at common things or research more to know more. 


C. Physiological Arousal 

Physiological Arousal is a type of  physical and psychological excitation  its one of the effects that people with anxiety have. based on its definition, it not good. but if you will look further at the end, there is an advantage why people are having this.


In the article entitled "Positive Effects of Anxiety" by Anonymous author. It tells that, when a person is having an Physiological Arousal "typically this means that the anxious person is shaking in his or her arms or legs, sweating, breathing heavily, and perhaps experiencing a rapid heartbeat, among many other anxiety effects" its a symptom that runs out of control. but in the end, people experiencing it may lead to physically emotional and a stronger person

Chapter1 Draft

Background of the Study.

Anxiety is an emotion considered as pressure. It is a part of every day life. As people live in the world outside, it is what people experience from time to time. Because people already adopt this kind of feeling as they grow up. Most would recognize feelings of tension and fear. A lot of situations like public speaking in the class, often usually get nervous because of pressure. It’s hard to calm down when  in front of a crowd where everybody gets their attention.

In this article entitled “Social Anxiety Disorder”  by Jo. It states that, Anxiety is something that people usually encounter in our everyday activities. It affects their natural routine.  It usually begin when men and women starts their adolescence stage.

According to Jo Many people with social anxiety disorder will also have another mental health problem” means that social anxiety may cause a health problem

Anxiety plays a big part of every human condition as some people think. They have their own definition on what anxiety is. In different field of study such as science, dictionary, psychology and even in theology. 

Another article, entitled “The Prisoner of Stress” by Louis Menand. Its stated that In related with theology, their own perception of anxiety is conscience, guilt and original sin. In some school anxiety known as the reaction of stress. And even in the modern life it can lead to a bad direction.

Anxiety is interpreted as a reaction to the stress and uncertainty of modern life” Some schools in sociology and cultural theory has their own interpretation of anxiety.

Drugs affect most of the body which should be protected, because there are several things that drugs may cause. Not just physically but it can mentally and emotionally damage.Such as Anti-anxiety drugs may lead into an increased risk of death. Because the more drugs will be use, the more tension and pressure what a person feel as time pass. 

Last article entitled Anti-Anxiety Drugs Tied to Higher Mortality by Nicholas said that, for seven years, A research conducted that people who use drugs have the highest possibility may lead into death. Health and other behavioral characteristics such as smoking, alcohol use and socioeconomic status.

 I prescribe these drugs, and they are difficult to come off. The less time you spend on them the better.”


There are plenty  disadvantage that anxiety may lead and may consider as known commonly. However the researcher observe that there are also benefits that anxiety may cause.   

The information provided in this paper is important because knowing the importance of anxiety will allow the reader to discover the positive side effects. Furthermore, having knowledge about anxiety will help the reader to be aware to any situation that may happen.  

The purpose of this paper is to explain the benefits of anxiety. 

B. Statement of the problem

Specifically, it attempts to answer the following questions:

1. What are positive side effects of anxiety ?

C. Significance of the Study.

People with Anxiety. The study will help to understand them. It will be beneficial  to them because they will know more about this paper and will help them to find cure, what should be avoided and what they should to on their disorder

Researchers. Their knowledge will be expanded because of the new discovering. It can solve many problems that a researcher wants to seek, wants to observe and wants to prove.

Psychologists.  It will help to understand deeper facts and information about the researched paper. And it can help to their jobs as well. To know more what people think, what people do and what people are.

D. Scope and Delimitation.

The study will be focus on what people doesn’t know about anxiety. How people with anxiety suffers, positive side of anxiety, how it could affect and effect people and reasons behind their behavior.

The study does not cover the deeper definition of Anxiety, The negative side of anxiety and everything that is commonly known by many.

E. Materials and Methods.

The researcher collected various data consist of different articles from online sources. The researcher used the sources to gather facts and information  to summarize it. For the people  to make it more simple and easy to understand.

Blogpost 8: Personality Disorder

Do ever feel like empty? A little voice inside your  head tells you what you should do or not? Getting high with no reason at all? Sometimes being paranoid or you always make out of control to yourself. Anxiety, Paranomias, Pathological Gambling. These are one of the  various kinds of a personality disorder. All of us has different aspects of personality disorders.  Most of this had a proven fact why people causes that kind of situation but not all had been proven what that causes of  had never been diagnosed. So as a student having this kind of research can expand my knowledge  regarding to the several personality disorders.


I found an article entitled "Overview of Personality DisordersBy Kendra Cherry According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual, a personality disorder is an "Enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectation of the individual's culture, is pervasive and inflexible,has an onset in adolescence or early adulthood, is stable over time, and leads to distress or impairment." Because these disorders are chronic and pervasive,they can lead to serious impairments in daily life and functioning”.

Kendra Cherry said that, "Personality disorders common cause is because of our life experiences that averted the growth of our normal thought and behavior pattern that starts from teenage years" I agree that as a teenager, I know that this is the stage where we develop our own thoughts, ideas, opinion and own point of view. Adolescence is a very crucial stage. And it is important that we would be guided and surrounded by the right person in this period of time to prevent thought that will definitely affect their feelings and lead to wrong judgment and influence their actions towards others. 

Another article entitled "Personality Disorders and Personality Traits" by John M. Grohol Personality disorders form a class of mental disorders that are characterized by long-lasting rigid patterns of thought and behavior. Personality disorders are seen by professionals and researchers as an enduring pattern of inner experience and behavior that deviates markedly from the expectations of the culture of the individual who exhibits it.

As said by John M. Grohol, Psy.D “Personality disorders tend to be an integral part of a person, and therefore, are difficult to treat or cure.” It turns out to be part of person and believed to be tough to “cure”. In conclusion, what we can do is lessen their distress and impairment in personal and social situation by adjusting and understanding their condition because it is said that this symptoms typically get worse with stress. 

Our personality  portrays a large part of us. The way that we reflect to ourselves, feel and  behave that creates us all individuals. For the most part of the time, our personality allows us to get on soundly well with other people, but a few of us, this isn't real. If you have a personality disorder, parts of your personality make it hard for you to live with yourself and/or other people.

Blogpost 7: Pathological Gambling

Millions of people are suffering from various addictions. Such as, drugs, money, alcohol, cigarettes and even Gambling addiction. Sadly, many do not get ahead of something  because they don’t know where to find help, or someone who to support.  Or worse, they don’t know they have an addiction that’s diagnosable. Not all dont know that there are other people dealing with the same problems every day. Because there’s no study has been proven what causes this Gambling disorder. 

From the article that I've read, What is Gambling Disorder? by Elizabeth Hartney. Gambling Disorder is a recent behavioral addiction diagnosis included in the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders. Gambling is normally on the person's mind - both remembering   past gambling incidents, and intending   future gambling events. Sometimes people who have this  bipolar disorder who is the one  gamble a lot while they are having a manic episode. Another pattern of one-sided  thinking that may happen in gambling disorder includes "Chasing one's losses"Not only do some people who develop gambling disorder literally gamble away everything they own, and end up in crippling debt, but far more of them become suicidal than would be look forward  in the general population.

Elizabeth Hartney stated that “gambling behaviors can become compulsive” Or on the other hand it may lead into a several  complications. In that same way as major financial and emotional problems, and are treatable using similar approaches to the treatment of substance addictions.

Another articled that I've encountered is What are symptoms and signs of a gambling addiction? By Roxanne Dryden-Edwards. At times we tend to think why people gamble. Because it is significant to know that there is usually no one a specific cause for pathological gambling. There are Risk factors for developing pathological gambling that includes many personality disorder such as  schizophrenia, mood problems, antisocial , and alcohol or cocaine addiction. People who undergo  from compulsive gambling have a possibility  to be novelty seekers, feel disconnected, relaxed, or aroused while gambling or playing video games.

Roxanne Dryden-Edwards said that  “When contemplating why people gamble, it is important to understand that there is usually no one specific cause for pathological gambling.” As each and everyone says, there is no study why people causes that kind of disorder maybe it part of they nature, its how the way people live. 

Addiction is a obsessive need. It leads as a satisfying experience that turns into an overpowering condition . Certain people become addicted to drugs, drugs, sex, alcohol and gambling. When the excitement of the game be greater than everything else, the player has cross over over the line from player to addict. Gambling, like all addictions can be harmful for the every human beings.

Blogpost 6: Night Eating Disorder



Eating is one of our favorite talents we are good with. Eating has many advantages. It help us to release our stress mainly when we are wretched at some things, having a breakdown, or when we are happy. Being a teenager, I know most of us love eating different food.  At times, we even travel at every place as long as various foods are serving and suit our taste. However we need to limit ourselves in eating for the reason that there are also some disadvantages that cause it. Or even, it may lead to a “Disorder”


Based on the article i researched, “Night EatingSyndrome” by LyndeI Costain found out that The eating disorder Night Time Spree influences up to 2% of people and for them, it is a nightmare. Looking for  professional help from a doctor is important - they can also suggest people for more specialist help if needed. If you feel you have problems with night eating/night time binge eating and want to found a more regular eating pattern, it is best to make changes one step at a time and start with a calorie level that allows you to maintain your weight. Once you feel more in control of your eating, and have a regular eating rhythm, then calculate your calorie level for gradual and healthy weight loss and make the most of what WLR has to offer.

While it is more common among  people who are overweight, it also affects people in the healthy weight range” I think that it is most usual for us people who are more overweight leads to a  major health problems.
Another article that I researched also entitled “Night Eating Syndrome” by Susan Cowden. Night eating syndrome is a term used to describe a type of disordered eatingthat is described by uncontrolled or compulsive eating especially at night. This type of eating was first described in 1955 and was described as eating a division of your daily calories after the evening meal and experiencing sleeplessness. Although some people with night eating syndrome also experience weight gain and/or obesity as a result of their eating, this is not common. Because night eating syndrome is not known as a specific eating disorder, it is typically identified as "Eating disorder: not otherwise specified" when people look for treatment.    
In the stated article “Eating a quarter of your daily calories after the evening meal and experiencing sleeplessness” consuming a meal four times or more in night can affect your sleeping behavior or can cause insomnia which is not good for us to deal with.
Eating a lot can cause a various kinds or disorders. No matter how eating taste good, people should always limit their selves.  Especially behavioral changes that affect what we eat and why we eat. This leads to collecting information about what is healthy, what is not, what Is good or bad. and how to break the freedom to emotional eating. To begin with,  this can be hard on the person who will do this. But if they follow a well-thought-out plan, they can learn to add in a different change one choice at a time.

Blogpost 5: Childhood Amnesia







When I was a kid, I love going to supermarket together with my mom. What I love about it, is that I used ride at that mini cart and it serves as a cart wheel where my mom puts on the foods, things and every other house expenses. Childhood is the best thing ever that we all encountered in every step of our life.  No struggles at all, live through playing, fun, happiness and freedom. The world seemed to be a place of joy and happiness to me. There was nothing worth worrying about.


I found a interesting article entitled New insights intothe perplexing puzzle of childhood amnesia by Susan Perry before the age of 3.  Few of us can recall the events/happening in our lives that happened. Sigmund Freud called this “black hole” in autobiographical memory infantile amnesia, but nowadays scientist called this as childhood amnesia. Yet, parents do know that their child can still remember autobiographical memories. It concludes that how a parents communicate to their preschoolers might influence how many facts their children will shortly recall about quick happenings in their lives


This articles says that “Memory offers some new insight into this perplexing phenomenon” Our brain attempts to accept the error that’s trigger us to have a feeling of awareness although at the same time realizing the familiar feeling can’t be actual.


On the other article I found. Remember When?: Infantile Amnesia by DUJS These large memory gaps of stories are hard to seal, thereby constructing a disconnect among one stage of life and another. For example, how does autobiographical memory shape infantile amnesia? Autobiographical memory or own memory is a type of memory that is established for encoding, storing, and retrieving events and practices to build one’s individual past. Psychologists have proven that autobiographical memory lessens the restraints of this specific amnesia


 This article tells that “Memory is a difficult term to define it’s mostly outer of our understanding, but can be called into working memory to be spent when taken. Certain of this data is quite easy to remember, while further memories are much more difficult to gain.
As our life goes on, we tend to recall our episodic childhood days. Even if its embarrassing, worst or a happy one, Always remember that a memory may always be obtainable, Nevertheless a person may perhaps not be able to access the memory for various reasons.

Blogpost 4: Parasomnias




As a teenager, most of us don’t get enough sleep. Why? Since we are loaded a tons of works and scheds. We constantly spend too much time texting or chatting on the computer with friends until we came up a hours till it reached in the morning. Because some of us get easily attracted to into something. Such as social networking sites, technology and some other hobbies. Yet other prioritizes their studies and they choose to study or do something school related instead of sleeping at night.  On the other hand, other teens attempt to sleep early. But sleep conflicts prevent them from doing so. Over time nights of wasted sleep whether it's
necessary or not. It can create into a "sleep deficit" teens with a deficit condition may unable to concentrate, work efficiently. It can also encounter emotional problems such as depression. That also may lead into a "Parasomnia disorder"
I've read an article entitled, "Sleep Experts Awaken Interest in Parasomnias" by Joan Arehart-Treichel. In this article, Sleep-disorder expert says how amazing what some people do while they’re asleep. Like talking, screaming, leaping out of bed, driving cars and even killing. This abnormal behavior is called “Parasomnias”.  Scientists have learned some valuable things about them, especially during the last 10 years. It is also now known that the non-REM parasomnias, such as sleepwalking and sleep talking, tend to run in families Moreover, sleep deprivation and sleep apnea can trigger sleepwalking, at least in those genetically predisposed to it, he noted. Different studies are conducted by sleep experts about parasomnias, still, a lot more needs to be learned about parasomnias, experts concur.
The article states that “One of those things that sleep and wakefulness can coexist” perhaps it is one of those possessions in life that, unusually sufficient, bids us to come up with the truth. As a individual who need a space apart, who want to take a break from the busy-ness of time and rest.

As I research more articles about Parasomnias, I found How Parasomnias Can Be Manifest by Joan Arehart-Treichel again, it tells that There are different cases of parasomnias that have been experience by people who have them, and were devastated by what they had done.  Strange behaviors like a man found sleep in the bathtub or in the kitchen at 4 o’clock in the morning, cooking his shoes in a skillet instead of eggs, Woking up in the morning where candy wrappers were srewn all over the bedroom and the most parasomnia patient whom Carlos Schenck, M.D., a professor of psychiatry at the University of Minnesota, has encountered was written up by National Geographic in 1990. So the story of this patient—Mel Abel—is in the public domain, he said.
Abel had a dream one night in which he shot a deer. But the deer didn’t die right away, so Abel wanted to put it out of its misery. He put his hands around the deer’s neck to snap it. But then Mel heard his wife screaming and came to; he had put his hands around her neck and was about to snap it. The article states that “A number of men with REM sleep behavior disorder” these are persons who fall from REM behavior disorder feat out their daydreams. They substantially move limbs or even get up and in involve actions related through waking.

Sleeping early with the proper time can help could get you to a good quality of sleep you need. I know that all of us want to have a long sleep specially people to get to use to work every day they deserve it. And I think I would be better to avoid mental disorders such as Parasomnias

Blogpost 3: Recovering Perfectionist

Dealing with my passion with perfection. It's certainly a question I ask myself every day: How far am I willing to go to reach that goal of excellence, to try to construct an abstract perfect a reality? But then I realized that God made us plain and simple on the other words,   nobody is perfect.  Everyone has their own flaws. Everyone makes mistakes. And everyone used to have bad days. Some people just need to wake up and figure it out. They think that they are so perfect that they are better than anyone else. They have to make sure that they have the perfect hair style, Clothes; The perfect skin complexion, the perfect friends, the perfect parents and so on and so on. This will show that it is okay not being perfect. Because deep down inside in God’s eyes we are all alike.

An appealing article I've discovered an article from Nina Elias named “The Dark Side of Perfectionism” A recent study in the Journal of Health Psychology, it could pose a health risk. According to researchers from the University of Surrey, there are two types of varieties -- adaptive and maladaptive. Maladaptive perfectionists, on the other hand, are driven by a strong worry of disappointment. Researchers discovered airing on the side of maladaptive perfectionism can have some several of possibly critical health effects.

 Nina Elias stated that “Not all perfectionist are created equal” they’re not equal in their own standard. Perfectionists have their own perception of excellence. I think we need to consider being a perfectionist is not better than being practically perfect.   

I also found an article entitled, “IsPerfectionism Holding You Back?” A journalist, smartest, funniest and talented person named Alice. An extraordinary worker in online media. She used to be a perfectionist.  Sometimes she puts a task off so long, hoping she'll find enough time to make it perfect, that she ends up rushing to get it done at the last minute. I realized that I've let perfectionism keep me from finishing certain project. 


According to Anjali Mullany Perfectionism is a terrible, paralyzing trap” it’s a dreadful act that leads to a trick that will trigger most of us. We get to infatuated by things we love to deal with. Perfectionist individuals have a strong impulse to have even the presence of control.

I what way can we get over these perfectionist wishes that are keeping us from achieving our objectives? Is what we call "perfectionism” truly a sign of somewhat deeper--a lack of self-possession in our capabilities, on the other hand an anxiety of other people will receive our effort. That we used to struggle with similar difficulties.

Blogpost 2: PSYCHOtic



Have you ever suffered from a severe mental disorders that cause abnormal thinking and observations? Affected by a mental state such as "loss of contact with reality?" like, what are the signs and symptoms you when you’re having a Psychotic disorder? As far as i know, people with   a psychotic disorder often leads to the following: hallucinations, delusions, catatonia or a thought labeled. Loss in social cognition similarly happens.

From an article entitled "Shared Psychotic Disorder" by Psych Central Staff. I find this article very stimulating. it states that It develops a misconception disorder.  It has said that a lot case can contain bizarre delusions. Typically this disorder is a leading relationship and gradually executes the delusional system. That will reduce or vanish if a relationship with a primary case is interrupted.  Even if two people in a common relationship shared this disorder, it can create a greater number among individuals. Usually these people having this disorder should be brought to a clinical attention and takes a treatment.

According to the Psych Central Staff  "Individuals who come to share delusional beliefs are often related by blood or marriage and have lived together for a long time “Basically , the two people have been together for a long  period of time and are both married or blood relatives. Also, the disorder is often to happen when there is a just to a substantial degree of social isolation  
Succeeding the next article labeled as "Mass psychosis in the US”  by James Ridgeway It reviews that America has become a state of psychotics. Over a $14 billion in sales in 2008. Use of anti psychotic medications. Formerly it was reserved for a small number of patients with psychiatric diagnoses. that has a symptoms like a formal thought disorder.                   Anxiety is something we all experience from time to time.Most of us would recognize feelings of tension, uncertainty,worry or fear. And also anxiety can be present continuously or triggered by specific situations. For some people,anxiety becomes so overwhelming that it takes over their lives.Anxiety symptoms include persistent irritability or worry,a sense of dread and difficulties concentrating and sleeping.There might also be physical symptoms,like heart palpitation,sweating,tensions and pain,heavy and rapid breathing,dizziness,fainting,indigestion,stomach aches and sickness.Some people withdraw from contact with other people or develop phobias,obsessive thoughts or compulsive behavior.
                     However,overwhelming feelings might also result in panic attacks.Panic attacksare an exaggeration of the body's normal response to fear,stress or excitement.It is the rapid build-up of overwhelming sensations,which might include a pounding heart,shaky limbs,nausea,chest pains and feelings of losing control.


I found a article entitled  "I was once scared of a toaster"  by Dough. I find this article very interesting because it deals with a daily lifestyle of anxiety. 

The article it talks about having a fear of leaving the toaster plugged in. chances are the toaster could start on its on and could start a fire. so Dough always check a toaster if its plugged in or not. the causes him to a paranoid person. As anxiety causes and as we called obsessive-compulsive  disorders leads to do some sort of rare things in reconsideration.



Dough stated that "I learned to become a realist. Dr. Low taught me that anticipation is often worse than realization and, especially, that feelings are not facts." its true Anticipation is generally preeminent than realization. it goes without telling that all human assume for something. Everyone of us has dreams and wishes to pursue. 


The second article which is Daily Life: One Overwhelming Fear After Another by Dough also. According to the second article Dough find himself as a nervous person he used to obsessing over grades, unreasonably doing things that are not he should be doing. having a fear of casual conversation. being future oriented. rarely lived in a moment with every action and random thoughts. 



And in the second article entitled. And in the second dough also stated that "wore a mask, and few knew how much i suffered, but my daily life was overwhelming fear after another" this one is a type of anxiety disorders. i think that effective treatments and self-help strategies will do. Once you figure out your anxiety disorder, there are ways you can take to diminish your symptoms and achieve the control of your daily life style. 


   A lot of Anxiety sufferers are in a constant battle with themselves, I've read lots of articles and i realized that the number of Anxiety victims are more than what i had expected. Anxiety feeds on your dislike of it,which leads to suppression tactics and the constant search for the answers,it feeds on your fear of it,which leads you to hiding away and letting it make decisions for you.Take its fuel away and allow it to be there without it dominating you and what you do.To recover from anxiety you truly don't need anything.You just need to have faith that you are fine with anxiety in your life.
